What Our Clients Say

–Bean Burns (Bean Flower Jewellery, New Zealand)

I've always struggled with energy and motivation when it comes to fitness, and I've previously had negative thoughts about exercising. Often when I would go for a walk or be rushing out-and-about during errands my calves would be really tight and painful. I also found sticking to a routine of healthier habits, like drinking more water, quite hard. With my jewellery business, I really needed something that would work around my schedule, but also gave me plenty of freedom/choices without being restrictive.

What I appreciate about Alex's approach was her calmness and understanding. I was really worried about not being able to keep up with the exercises, and that she would be frustrated if I didn't do them. Instead, she adjusts my program to match my energy levels each week. In the short time we've been working together, my calves have gotten better (less pain) and I'm more conscious and accountable to myself of how much water I'm drinking each day. Even though I still struggle with motivation, I actually feel more encouraged to want to exercise which is something I didn't have before.

–Kelly S (Sydney, Australia)

Over the last 20 years I've gone to the gym, having tried various yo-yo diets and had several different trainers. It's fair to say I had an idea of what to expect from having a trainer write out an exercise plan for me. I'd been trying to lose weight and increase my strength, but having a bad knee and shoulder was making it more difficult. Plus having to look after my little ones meant that I wanted to come into the gym and not have to think too much, but I was also tight on time.

When I first started working with Alex, she really listened to me, understanding what I wanted, and put together programs that worked for me, so I was more likely to stay on track. In the 20 years of training with different PTs, Alex is the first trainer I had who really listened, and I enjoyed the training programs she gave me. I've stuck to my programs for 1 year now - even training while I was away on holidays in Fiji!

Over the 12 months we've been working together, I've increased my overall strength, including around my legs and lost weight. My mental health has also improved, as I get some time to zone out from everything else and focus on me.

–Gordon Gilkes (Director, Dance Sport Confidence)

Prior to commencing my training with Alex I was already a regular gym go-er. Already having a background in dance meant that structured exercise was nothing new to me. I've usually always been pretty strict with my nutrition, but I've been struggling to make noticeable changes to my overall strength and get leaner. I'd worked with trainers in the past with varying results. I have a fairly hectic work schedule, and with a growing family, I really needed to make the most of my training time.

What really stood out to me about Alex was her calm, and methodical approach to my training. I also found her non-judgemental nature really helped. I took some time to observe Alex in action before approaching her to work together, because I wanted to make sure we would be a good fit. It took some trial and error, but Alex really helped me develop a plan and direction for my training program, and I have had huge strength gains and lost 6kg of fat. Alex took a very pedantic approach to making sure that my program suited me and my body.

–Senaka D (Homebush, Sydney)

Before I started training with Alex, I already had a physically demanding job as a mechanic, and so I hadn't done much in the way of exercise training previously. I thought that being active as part of my job was enough, but my Dr told me that I should start exercising to help manage my diabetes. Having not had much experience with gyms and doing shift work made finding structure more challenging.

I saw Alex work with other people prior to working with her - I really liked the way she approached people, tried to understand them and offered assistance or suggestions, based not only on her experience, but from research too. With Alex's recommendations, not only have I been able to reduce my blood sugar levels, but my Dr has even reduced my medications! Alex took a very informed approach to my training plan, ensuring that it was appropriate for my health conditions and work-related shoulder injury

–Emma P (Retail Manager, Sydney)

I'd never previously set foot in a gym, so when I started training, I wasn't confident in what I was doing. I knew I wanted to improve my core strength and be able to run for the bus without panting out of breath. Working full-time and looking after my daughter keeps me busy, so I wanted to make the best use of my time in the gym as well as have some 'me' time!

Alex took me through some initial programs in the gym to get me started. I like that she listened to me and explained the exercises to me so that I was able to learn about why I was doing them - Totally the opposite of what I thought a trainer would be like! I also felt way more confident and in control of my gym sessions. Since starting training regularly, and with Alex's guidance I've lost 5kg, feel stronger, happier, calmer and more confident.

–John M (Retired, Sydney)

When I first started coming to the gym, I didn't really think that exercise wold do much good for me. Before coming, my cardiologist said that I should start exercising to strengthen my legs and heart. Having not been to a gym previously, I didn't really know where to start.

My first contact with Alex was in my initial session with her - I really like that she is often smiling and telling jokes throughout, as it makes the sessions feel like they go quicker. I was pleased to see the knowledge and enthusiasm for her work in our sessions too. Using her exercise plan, I have been able to reduce my blood pressure medication and strengthen my legs - I'm taking the stairs 2 at a time now!
